The successful candidate will have experience analyzing and designing telecommunications towers, monopoles, rooftop installations, and related structures. As part of multidisciplinary project teams, this individual will prepare structural calculations and project documents, apply relevant codes, standards, and client requirements, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal staff.

This role offers the opportunity to expand technical expertise and professional judgment while taking greater ownership of project deliverables. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers, the Structural Project Engineer - Telecommunications will conduct field visits, evaluate existing structural conditions, and support project planning and delivery.

Structural Engineering & Telecommunications Project Experience

FPA's Telecommunications Department provides multidisciplinary engineering services for telecommunications facilities and related infrastructure.

The Structural Project Engineer will support new installations, upgrades, and modifications using industry-standard structural analysis and design software. The successful candidate will balance multiple assignments while producing accurate, code-compliant work within established schedules.

Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for telecommunication towers, monopoles, rooftops, and related structures.
Utilize engineering software such as O-Calc, RISA Tower, AutoCAD, and other industry tools to complete structural evaluations and prepare detailed reports.
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and client standards to ensure compliance with applicable codes and design requirements.
Develop construction drawings, calculations, and documentation to support new installations, upgrades, and modifications.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project deliverables are accurate and completed on schedule.
Conduct field visits and inspections as required to gather site-specific data and verify structural conditions.
Assist in preparing proposals, project budgets, and schedules as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master's degree a plus.
3-5 years of relevant structural engineering experience in the telecommunications industry.
Proficiency with O-Calc, tnxTower, RISA, and other structural analysis software.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
Familiarity with applicable standards and codes such as TIA-222, AISC, and ACI.
EIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement plans. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $89,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, qualifications, and skill set. FPA recognizes and rewards performance through an annual bonus program.
