Functional QA / Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Functional QA / Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong Auto Finance industry experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in either Functional QA/Testing or Business Analysis/BSA, with a solid understanding of automotive lending and finance business processes.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, development teams, and QA teams to understand requirements, validate functionality, identify gaps, and ensure solutions meet business and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand Auto Finance business requirements, workflows, and processes.
• Work with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, document, and validate requirements.
• Create and review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional testing, system testing, integration testing, and regression testing where applicable.
• Develop and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements.
• Validate end-to-end business processes related to auto loans and vehicle financing.
• Identify, document, and track defects and work with development teams through resolution.
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs, backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, and release activities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, business users, and other stakeholders.
• Perform data validation and SQL-based verification where required.
• Analyze production issues and assist with root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Ensure business requirements are properly translated into functional and technical solutions.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business users.
• Maintain requirement traceability between business requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA and business analysis processes.

Auto Finance Domain Experience

Candidates must have experience working within the Automotive Finance / Auto Lending domain, with exposure to areas such as:

• Auto loan origination
• Credit and underwriting
• Loan application processing
• Dealer financing / dealer systems
• Vehicle financing
• Loan servicing
• Payments and collections
• Contract funding
• Account setup and maintenance
• Interest, fees, and payoff calculations
• Customer and dealer management
• Loan lifecycle and status management
• Credit bureau integrations
• Financial and regulatory processes

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Functional QA, Business Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or a combination of these areas.
• Strong Auto Finance / Automotive Lending domain experience.
• Candidates can come from either a Functional QA background or a BSA/Business Analyst background.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong experience with requirements analysis and documentation.
• Experience creating test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Experience with SQL/data validation is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Auto Lending / Auto Finance applications.
• Experience supporting large enterprise financial systems.
• Experience with API/integration testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of loan origination and servicing platforms.
• Experience supporting UAT and business process validation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, databases, and enterprise application integrations.
