Overview

We are seeking a Proxy Engineer to join a dedicated network security support team. This role focuses on managing and supporting enterprise Web Content Filtering and Proxy infrastructure in both forward and reverse proxy environments. You'll work with industry-leading technologies such as Bluecoat, McAfee Web Gateway, and F5 SSL Orchestrator, helping improve response times and stability for critical network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and support Web Content Filtering / Proxy infrastructure in forward and reverse proxy configurations
• Lead and participate in complex system engineering initiatives across network security and infrastructure teams
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Bluecoat ProxySG, McAfee Web Gateway, and F5 SSL Orchestrator (SSLO)
• Support enterprise network security technologies including firewalls, malware inspection, and content inspection
• Troubleshoot and maintain Radware, Alteon, and FireEye inspection technologies
• Act as a subject matter expert, communicating technical solutions to engineers, leadership, and business stakeholders
• Lead resolution efforts for complex incidents and escalations requiring deep technical analysis
• Support ITSM processes including Incident, Change, Request, and Problem Management
• Contribute to automation and process improvements where applicable

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing Web Content Filtering / Proxy infrastructure
  • Bluecoat and McAfee Web Gateway
  • Forward and reverse proxy configurations
• 5+ years managing network security technologies (firewalls, content inspection, malware inspection, etc.)
• Advanced experience with Radware, Alteon, and FireEye content inspection platforms
• Strong understanding of authentication protocols (Kerberos, LDAP, IWA, IWA-Direct, SSO, Active Directory)
• 6-8 years of experience in Network Operations, Information Security, or Cyber Security
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills and familiarity with ITIL best practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Bluecoat Management Center, ProxySG, BCAAA
• McAfee Web Gateway and McAfee DLP
• F5 SSL Orchestrator (SSLO)
• Netskope
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Expect, REST/SOAP)
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Experience with technologies such as:
  • Splunk, WAN/LAN/MAN, Routing & Switching
  • Proxy & Threat Prevention
  • DDI, Load Balancing, AAA

Certifications (Preferred)

• ITIL Certification
• Network / Security Certifications such as:
  • CCNA Security, CCNP, CCIE
  • BCCPA / BCCPP
  • CISSP, CCSP, CEH
  • Fortinet NSE (1-8), CCSA, CCSE, CCTA, CCTE

• Proven experience managing multiple projects and workstreams

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Irving, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
