Summary

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Seeburger Consultant to lead and execute a Seeburger BIS (Business Integration Suite) system upgrade. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the upgrade end to end, ensuring stability, security, compatibility, and minimal disruption to business critical B2B/EDI and integration flows. The consultant will work closely with IT, infrastructure, security, application owners, and business stakeholders to validate requirements, perform technical upgrades, test integrations, and support cutover and post go live stabilization.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead the Seeburger BIS upgrade initiative including version assessment, upgrade path, prerequisites, and licensing impacts

·        Develop and maintain the upgrade plan, including scope, milestones, downtime windows, and rollback strategy

·        Coordinate activities across teams including application, infrastructure, database, network, security, and vendors to ensure readiness

·        Assess current platform architecture including on prem, hosted, or cloud, along with OS, database, JVM, and middleware dependencies

·        Validate and implement system prerequisites including supported OS and database versions, Java versions, certificates, and encryption settings

·        Ensure high availability, performance, and capacity considerations are addressed during and after upgrade

·        Upgrade and validate Seeburger components including:

·        EDI and B2B processing, mapping, converters, and adapters

·        FTP, SFTP, AS2, and HTTPS connectivity and partner configurations

·        Job scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and logging

·        Review and remediate configuration changes required for the new version

·        Ensure all interfaces and partner connections remain functional post upgrade

·        Define the test strategy including unit, regression, end to end, performance, and security validation

·        Execute and coordinate testing for:

·        EDI transactions and acknowledgements such as 997, 999, and CONTRL

·        Message processing workflows and routing

·        Partner connectivity including SFTP and AS2 certificates, key rotations, and cipher compatibility

·        Troubleshoot defects and performance issues and lead root cause analysis and remediation

·        Lead cutover execution, including:

·        Change implementation steps

·        Pre and post validation checks

·        Rollback procedures

·        Provide hypercare support post go live and ensure a smooth transition to operations

·        Deliver operational documentation and knowledge transfer to support teams

·        Ensure compliance with security standards including TLS versions, certificate management, credential vaulting, and least privilege

·        Create and maintain documentation including:

o   As built architecture, runbooks, and SOPs

o   Monitoring and alerting procedures

o   Partner connectivity guides and onboarding or offboarding steps

 

Required Qualifications

·        5+ years experience with Seeburger BIS administration, configuration, and B2B/EDI integration

·        Proven experience performing Seeburger BIS upgrades from planning through go live

·        Strong hands on knowledge of:

o   B2B and EDI standards and workflows including X12 and EDIFACT, acknowledgements, and validations

o   Protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, and certificate and key management

o   Troubleshooting logs, message reprocessing, queue handling, and error resolution

o   Experience with enterprise environments including:

o   Linux and Windows server administration concepts

o   Database fundamentals such as Oracle or SQL Server depending on environment

o   Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across technical and non technical stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience with Seeburger modules or add ons such as Managed File Transfer, API integrations, and SAP connectivity

·        Automation or scripting experience for deployment or operational tasks using PowerShell or Bash

 

Education / Certifications (Nice to Have)

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

·        Relevant integration or EDI certifications and Seeburger training credentials are a plus
