Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (SBSA) with a strong background in banking or financial services, enterprise application management, business analysis, and stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, Product Owners, and vendors to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

This role involves managing business-critical software applications, defining functional and technical requirements, supporting the complete software development lifecycle, and leading business process improvements.

Required Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related discipline, or equivalent education/work experience.

- 7+ years of experience working with business software applications.

- Strong background in Business Analysis and Business Systems Analysis.

- Experience working in the banking or financial services industry.

- Experience managing complex enterprise software platforms and critical business applications.

- Strong experience with product and project stakeholder management.

Required Technical Skills

- Advanced SQL and relational database concepts.

- Experience with data analysis, reporting, validation, and SQL queries.

- Strong requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation skills.

- Experience creating functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.

- Working knowledge of cloud computing.

- Experience with Agile, Lean, TDD, Waterfall, and other software delivery methodologies.

- Understanding of the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

- Experience managing enterprise application configuration, workflows, permissions, reporting, and upgrades.

- Knowledge of software engineering concepts and data architecture.

- Experience supporting business-critical financial and compliance applications.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar Agile development tools.

- Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar application monitoring tools.

- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of SaaS and PaaS applications.

- Experience with production support and break-fix issue resolution.

- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test planning, and test execution.

- Knowledge of application security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

- Experience with vendor management, RFP development, and vendor evaluation.

- Experience with business case development, financial analysis, and risk assessment.

- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and application lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

- Gather, analyze, document, and communicate business and technical requirements.

- Work with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and end users to define product roadmaps and sprint-level goals.

- Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.

- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process models, and data flow diagrams.

- Conduct requirement workshops and coordinate technical walkthroughs.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technical debt reduction.

Application & Systems Management

- Manage complex business-critical applications supporting financial, product, and compliance requirements.

- Support application configuration, data management, user permissions, workflows, and reporting.

- Coordinate application upgrades, patches, releases, and enhancements.

- Manage application lifecycle activities across development, testing, disaster recovery, and production environments.

- Support application performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.

- Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to resolve production and development issues.

Testing & Implementation

- Develop and review test plans and support test execution.

- Coordinate UAT and obtain business stakeholder sign-off.

- Investigate defects and work with development teams to resolve issues.

- Support production implementations and release management.

- Ensure application changes follow established IT change-control processes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Serve as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.

- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate technical deliverables.

- Support business case development, vendor research, and RFP activities.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize business objectives and technology initiatives.

- Communicate project progress, risks, and system changes to leadership.

Governance, Security & Technical Leadership

- Ensure applications meet cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

- Support disaster recovery planning and application security practices.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and user manuals.

- Lead technical discussions, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.

- Mentor junior Business Systems Analysts and provide subject matter expertise.
