Apex Systems is seeking a
Materials and Processes Engineer to join our aerospace manufacturing client in
Tukwila, WA. We are actively reviewing candidates and can begin conversations as early as this week.
This team supports a wide range of
non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and
measurement technology applications for both commercial and defense products. The role offers exposure to multiple business units and the opportunity to support a variety of aircraft platforms across different stages of the production lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. A foundational understanding of analysis techniques used to determine performance characteristics or root cause of failures in tools, materials, parts, or processes is essential.

Position Responsibilities- Develop NDE procedures to support airline customer maintenance inspections
- Design NDE reference standards in support of inspection procedures
- Develop engineering specifications and documentation to meet customer needs
- Assist in evaluating emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
- Support development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
- Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into:
Materials and processesResearch, design, and qualificationWork proceduresLabs and office areasRequired Skills- 1+ years of engineering experience with Bachelors Degree, 0+ years of engineering experience with Masters Degree
Preferred Skills- Experience with CAD systems (CATIA, SolidWorks)
- Experience with NDI systems such as ultrasonics and eddy current
- Experience in aviation and/or aerospace
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong proficiency with computing systems
- Strong documentation and technical writing abilities
- Effective time management, including the ability to manage multiple projects across various geographic locations
- Knowledge of materials science involving metals and/or composites
Education / Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry and 2+ years of experience

- Master's Degree with relevant experience
