StaffRight Associates is recruiting a Business Data Analyst with a specialized focus on Master Data Management (MDM) for our client. This is a remote, 6+ month contract with high potential for extension. Candidates will be hired as W2 employees of the client; please note that C2C or subcontracting arrangements are not available for this position.

The Role
This is a high-impact, data-centric position within the Master Data Management team, specifically centered on the Vendor domain. Our client operates a custom-built MDM platform and is currently scaling a ServiceNow-based application for vendor onboarding. As the lead analyst, you will be responsible for expanding the vendor data model, integrating supply chain and distributor data, and architecting scalable workflows that serve the entire enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Domain Expansion
Model Evolution: Architect enhancements for the vendor data model to incorporate distributor and supply chain integrations.
Gap Analysis: Evaluate existing vendor data structures to identify missing attributes or required structural changes.
Data Governance: Refine and validate data definitions to ensure long-term scalability and alignment with corporate governance standards.
Technical Analysis & Discovery
Data Profiling: Utilize SQL and AWS tools to independently query, profile, and audit large datasets.
Validation: Conduct deep-dive data exploration to ensure business requirements are technically feasible and accurate.
Structural Improvements: Identify data inconsistencies and propose sophisticated structural remedies.
Strategic Documentation & Requirements
Technical Translation: Collaborate with Product Managers and Data Architects to turn business processes into rigid technical data specifications.
Lifecycle Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation for the development and architecture teams to ensure seamless handoffs.
ServiceNow & Workflow Optimization
Process Engineering: Support the creation of ServiceNow workflows for the full vendor lifecycle (onboarding through offboarding).
Integration Mapping: Document and capture all downstream system integration points to ensure data integrity across the environment.
Candidate Requirements
Core MDM & Data Expertise
Professional Tenure: Proven experience as a Business/Data Analyst within MDM, data modeling, or data governance environments.
Architectural Literacy: Strong ability to connect high-level business processes to underlying enterprise data structures.
Technical Toolkit: Advanced SQL skills and experience navigating AWS environments for data investigation.
Analytical & Professional Traits
Ambiguity Management: A self-starter who is comfortable building structure in environments where workflows are not yet fully defined.
Documentation Discipline: Expert-level ability to write structured business and data-level specifications.
Communication: Skilled at acting as the bridge between non-technical stakeholders and technical engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with ServiceNow platforms.
Background in Supply Chain, Distributor, or Vendor data domains.
