What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and operation of enterprise scale data platforms, including modern lakehouse and cloud-native architectures
- Establish and execute the long term vision and roadmap for data engineering across the organization
- Build shared frameworks, standards, and best practices to enable consistent, high quality data delivery
- Champion DataOps and CI/CD principles, automating deployment, testing, and monitoring to improve reliability and speed
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across areas such as PySpark, SQL, dbt, ELT/ETL tooling, and cloud services
- Partner closely with architecture, analytics, and application teams to deliver end to end data solutions
- Design highly scalable, efficient data infrastructure to support growing data volumes and business demands
- Own delivery timelines and outcomes, ensuring initiatives are completed on time and within budget
- Lead and develop a team of data engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and modern data architecture patterns
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and technology leadership roles
- Strong experience leading teams and setting technical direction in enterprise environments
- Deep expertise with cloud-based data ecosystems (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and/or Azure)
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery
- Advanced proficiency in Python / PySpark, SQL, and modern ELT/ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran)
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration patterns, and enterprise data strategy
- Proven ability to build or modernize a lakehouse or next-generation data platform from the ground up
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
