Summary

Senior Software Engineer/SRE

This company is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer/SRE to help scale our cloud infrastructure and enhance the developer experience. As a member of their centralized Platform team, you'll contribute to the design, implementation, and support of foundational tools and systems used across the organization. This role is roughly 80% infrastructure-focused and 20% application development, blending platform building, adoption enablement, and continuous improvement of existing tooling.

The company is located in New York City and San Francisco, CA and will be a hybrid model of 3 days onsite a week at either location.

What You Will Be Doing:

Design, build, and scale robust cloud infrastructure components, including networking, IAM, Kubernetes, databases, pub/sub systems, storage, and content distribution platforms.
Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and release management tools to support a rapidly growing engineering team and increasing code volume.
Establish and maintain cloud security practices, including continuous integration/deployment scanning, least privilege access, audit logging, and adherence to SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance standards.
Champion and build scalable testing frameworks, including end-to-end UI automation and high-scale load testing to ensure product reliability and performance.
Enhance incident response capabilities through improved observability, comprehensive runbooks, and strengthened operational readiness across the organization.
Create a seamless bridge between local development and production environments, improving development workflows while maintaining strong security and minimizing configuration drift.
Document and evangelize platform tools and strategies, enabling engineers to adopt cloud-native best practices and improve development velocity and system reliability.
Represent the company externally by sharing our platform engineering innovations in the broader tech community through conferences, open source contributions, and thought leadership, with a focus on AI-first, cloud-native, and security-first architectures at scale.

Required Skills & Experience:

DevOps Engineer,? Platform Engineer,? Infra Engineer,? Site Reliability Engineer,? or Production Engineer in a cloud-?first organization at scaled growth startups with fast shipping velocity where candidate had real impact and/or experience at bigger tech/FAANG companies.?
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (1+ years)
Experience working with Kubernetes
Experience working with Terraform
Application deployment
CI/CD pipeline work
Python, Go, or Node.js
Multi-cloud experience
Startup or growth-stage startup/company experience preferred; combination of this with big tech/FAANG is a big plus.
