Mission
Own end-to-end technical delivery for a multi-year, three-data-center migration to Google Cloud. Lead the migration factory from discovery and landing zone through pilot waves, scaled migration, selective modernization, and data-center exit.
Core responsibilities
- Lead architecture, migration-wave planning, dependency management, and technical governance across infrastructure, data, and applications.
- Establish landing-zone, network, security, resilience, policy-as-code, and FinOps guardrails with the customer and Google teams.
- Run pilots and an industrialized migration factory with quality gates, automated validation, cutover, hypercare, and decommissioning controls.
- Drive workload decisions across rehost, replatform, containerization, refactoring, and retirement.
- Manage customer technical stakeholders, Google Professional Services, partner teams, and delivery pods; communicate risks, decisions, and outcomes clearly.
- Build and mentor a high-performing Google Cloud Platform engineering team and own delivery metrics, RAID management, and executive reporting.
Required experience
- 12+ years in cloud/platform engineering, including 5+ years leading enterprise migration or modernization programs.
- Deep Google Cloud Platform architecture: landing zones, IAM, networking, security, resilience, observability, Terraform, and CI/CD.
- Proven delivery of large on-premises or data-center migrations and migration factories.
- Strong application modernization background: Kubernetes/GKE, APIs, Java or .NET workloads, containerization, and refactoring patterns.
- Working knowledge of data migration, governance, and FinOps.
- Customer-facing leadership in regulated financial-services environments is strongly preferred.
Preferred credentials
Google Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent; experience with Migration Center, Migrate to VMs, Migrate to Containers, Cloud Foundation Toolkit, and SRE/FinOps practices.
