Job Title: Jr. QA Analyst (QA Tester)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract (Through June 30, 2027; renewable annually)
Position Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Jr. QA Analyst (QA Tester) to support quality assurance efforts for enterprise applications. This role focuses on executing the full testing lifecycle, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in manual and/or automated testing, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Perform functional, system, and regression testing on applications (including GIS components)
- Analyze test results and report defects, issues, and anomalies
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scenario creation and execution
- Prepare and maintain Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM)
- Participate in defect triage meetings and product demos
- Ensure testing timelines are met; escalate risks and issues as needed
- Provide regular status updates to QA leadership
- Prepare test data and validate system functionality across environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing
- Experience working on mid-to-large scale system development projects
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Hands-on experience with:
- Test planning and execution
- Manual and/or automated testing
- RTM documentation
- UAT coordination and support
- Ability to analyze system requirements and technical documentation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills
- System, regression, and performance testing
- Parallel/comparative testing
- Security and disaster recovery testing
- Post-go-live validation
- Defect tracking and management
- Test case creation and execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with tools such as GitHub and ServiceNow
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mobile device testing
- Public sector or government project experience
- Familiarity with GIS applications
- QA certifications such as:
- CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)
- CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer)
- CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst)
- CMSQ (Certified Manager of Software Quality)
