Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer
Fully onsite in Hanover, MD

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing local and wide-area networks to ensure maximum uptime across all Cordish Gaming properties. Responsibilities include deploying new systems, upgrading existing infrastructure, documenting standards, and participating in peer review processes to ensure compliance with company security requirements.

This role also provides top-tier support for incident troubleshooting, contributes to cross-functional projects, and mentors junior team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain multisite WAN environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain large wired/wireless LANs, including corporate, guest, and regulated networks.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, access points, and switches (Lucent Alcatel, HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Cisco).
  • Implement Network Access Control solutions, including 802.1X with centralized management.
  • Review and recommend secure workstation/laptop configurations.
  • Architect, design, schedule, implement, and document networking solutions based on business requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Train and mentor Infrastructure and Support team members.
  • Plan and execute LAN-related infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement complex security architectures and frameworks.
  • Participate in creating IT Infrastructure policies and standards.
  • Review and update ACLs on switching, firewall, and routing equipment.
  • Provide on-call support and work any assigned shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all hardware.
  • Assist with cable pulling and termination.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum: 5+ years of IT experience with hands-on network configuration.
  • Preferred: 10+ years in IT with 5+ years of network design experience.
  • Degree in Computer/Information Science, Security, or related technical field preferred.
  • Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, AWS, or Google Cloud are a plus.
  • Equivalent technical experience may substitute for formal education or certifications.
