A technology services organization is seeking a Test Lead for a hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois or Houston, Texas.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days per week)
- Locations: Chicago, Illinois or Houston, Texas
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day QA and test activities for automation initiatives across UI and backend services
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and API testing tools
- Define test strategies, automation frameworks, and execution plans aligned with project goal
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios
- Track test progress, manage defects, report quality metrics, and mentor junior testers
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software testing experience with a focus on automation
- Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Java or Python, and API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured
- Experience testing RESTful services and APIs
- Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control, and defect tracking tools
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with .NET web applications
- Knowledge of SOA test automation frameworks, change management, and release management processes
- Exposure to tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Fiddler, ReadyAPI, UFT, ADO, Jira, Dynatrace, or similar platforms
- Experience with broader automation coverage across web, mobile, desktop, backend APIs, databases, messaging, or cloud technologies
