Role Overview
This position is for a ServiceNow Architect, specifically acting as a ServiceNow CMDB Manager. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the CMDB data model, managing data population through discovery and integrations, and enforcing governance to ensure data quality. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for the CMDB and collaborate with various IT and business teams to support key ITSM processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the CMDB data model, CI class hierarchy, and relationship structures in alignment with ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) best practices.
- Configure, manage, and optimize ServiceNow Discovery and integrate third-party data sources (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, Infoblox, Lansweeper) to automate CI population.
- Establish and enforce CMDB governance policies, including CI lifecycle management and data stewardship standards.
- Define, track, and report on CMDB health KPIs such as completeness, accuracy, and compliance using ServiceNow dashboards.
- Ensure CMDB data supports and enriches key ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the CMDB, providing guidance and training to stakeholders across the organization.
- Perform day-to-day ServiceNow CMDB administration, including CI updates, relationship management, and access controls.
- Manage MID Server infrastructure, including installation, upgrades, and monitoring.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a similar and applicable field of study.
Experience:- 10+ years implementing enterprise IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- 8+ years of experience leading ServiceNow architecture engagements.
- 4+ years in cloud infrastructure technologies.
- At least one full lifecycle ServiceNow implementation in the role of a lead architect.
Technical Skills:- Deep understanding of ServiceNow core infrastructure, CMDB, ITSM, CSM, SPM, and GRC.
- Proficient in ServiceNow scripting languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.) and application development best practices.
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations, including REST APIs, SOAP, and other integration methods.
