Job Description:
The Piping Testing Superintendent is responsible for leading and supervising pneumatic pressure testing activities for process and utility piping systems on a large LNG construction project. The role ensures all testing is performed safely, meets quality standards, and supports project turnover and commissioning schedules.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise crews performing pneumatic pressure testing activities.
Review P&IDs, isometric drawings, and test packages to verify system readiness.
Coordinate pre-test inspections, line walks, isolation checks, and equipment setup.
Monitor pressure testing operations and ensure compliance with project procedures.
Enforce safety requirements, exclusion zones, and stored-energy hazard controls.
Troubleshoot testing issues such as leaks, faulty instruments, or isolation problems.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, documentation, and approvals.
Track daily progress, manpower requirements, and testing schedules.
Work with other disciplines to remove construction and testing obstacles.
Maintain accurate testing records, reports, and turnover documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8 10 years of relevant experience, or 12 14 years of related industry experience.
Strong experience in piping systems, pressure testing, and construction field operations.
Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and construction safety practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information:
Previous LNG project experience is highly preferred.
Experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, mining, or power plant construction is advantageous.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including day shift, night shift, or split shifts.
Ability to perform field inspections in hot, humid, and active construction environments.
Must be capable of climbing ladders/scaffolding, working at heights or in confined spaces, and using required PPE.
