AWS Cloud Platform Engineer (Contractor)

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Platform Engineer responsible for AWS Organizations governance, account management, infrastructure automation, security controls, and cloud platform operations. This role will maintain AWS foundational services and support application teams through reusable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AWS Governance & Multi-Account Management

• Manage AWS Organizations and account structure.
• Implement Service Control Policies (SCPs).
• Support AWS Control Tower and Account Factory processes.
• Establish guardrails and governance standards.
• Manage tagging and account compliance initiatives.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Regularly maintain GitHub Actions deployment pipelines.
• Automate AWS account provisioning and resource deployment.

Security & Compliance

• Implement IAM best practices and least-privilege access.
• Support security monitoring and remediation.
• Coordinate cloud security assessments.

Cloud Platform Services

• Maintain foundational services including:
  • IAM
  • S3
  • CloudWatch
  • KMS
  • VPC Endpoints
• Enable application teams with approved reference architectures.

Operations & Reliability

• Troubleshoot platform and networking issues.
• Monitor cloud health, performance, and costs.
• Support incident response and operational excellence initiatives.
• Maintain platform documentation.
