Senior Cleans Process Engineer

Location: Chandler, Arizona (Onsite)

Role Overview

The Senior Cleans Process Engineer will support multiple cleans processes within a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position focuses on improving process performance, reducing operational losses, increasing yield, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, collaborative, and comfortable working closely with manufacturing teams in a fast-paced fab environment.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who is willing to support factory priorities, troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor, and work cross-functionally to solve complex process challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Reduce defectivity, cycle time, and operational costs.
• Improve process capability, yield, and overall factory performance.
• Analyze process and equipment data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support development activities by creating process specifications and documentation.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data-driven methodologies to improve performance.
• Participate in capacity planning and process optimization initiatives.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
• Train and mentor team members on process best practices.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Facilities, Equipment Engineering, and other Engineering teams.
• Work with OEM and third-party vendors to support process improvements and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

Education

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• 3-8 years of semiconductor process engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Candidates with less experience but strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly will be considered.

Technical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience troubleshooting process-related issues and identifying root causes.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret process and equipment performance data.
• Knowledge of statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present technical information and recommendations to various audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cleans processes within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with diffusion, wet process, or related semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with any of the following toolsets is a plus:
  • SCP9400
  • WS-820L
  • Akrion GAMA wet benches
  • Semitool SST, SAT, and RADR batch solvent cleaning systems
  • Screen 80B/80EX spray tools
  • FSI Mercury/Zeta

• Comfortable spending time in the fab environment supporting process and manufacturing activities.
• Must be proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
