Aetna, a CVS Health Company is looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer to play a role in supporting our roadmap of delivering high quality analytic data to our business.
This role will be part of a release train, working in close partnership with Agile development teams to deliver new capabilities on existing applications on Cloud and DB2 as well as support design and develop of new applications. The role will include supporting the planning, design, management, and maintenance of applications and warehouse tools that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support achieving business outcomes. The primary objective is providing business partners quality analytical data that supports financial reporting, development of new products, and compliance reporting to enable our customer experience and speed to market while providing flexible and scalable solutions to execute on the broader Enterprise Strategic Roadmap.
Essential Job Functions:
- Awareness of full software development life cycle practices and the ability to follow source code management, code quality and testing practices.
- Technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform application development and Data Integrations.
- Strong analytical ability and strategic thinking.
- Ability to understand data components and how they are used in integration.
- Create and maintain source to target mapping documents supporting data integration and ETL processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency and structural alignment to support reliable reporting.
- Collaborate within the team to support delivery.
- Ability to write moderately complex to complex SQL scripts.
- Work with other Data Engineers to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in an Agile Team and understanding of Agile principals.
- Ability to learn Agile Reporting Tools in support of monitoring daily progress towards delivery.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, good judgment, and active listening skills.
- Strong communication (oral, technical, and written) skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.

Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years work experience
- Strong programming experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL. BQL (Biq Query Language) is a plus.
- Build STTMs, composes moderate to complex SQL scripts for data analysis, and use of automation tools to streamline workflow and delivery .
- Contributes ideas, feedback, and contribution to overall goals and objectives of team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaboration projects.
- Assists team members with tasks, timelines, and deliverables by sharing information, collaborating, and ensuring effective communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in Medicaid business.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices with healthcare data.
- Experience with data design in BigQuery.
- Experience working with healthcare data (Member/Plan/Products)
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering or other related field that provides similar skills.

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$79,310.00 - $158,620.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
