Location: MO-Maryland Heights, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Tech Lead - Java/Springboot, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
Serve as the primary technical authority for Java-based applications and services
Establish and enforce best practices for software development, coding standards, testing, and CI/CD
Guide design decisions, architecture reviews, and code reviews to ensure technical quality
Hands-on Development:
Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications, APIs, and microservices
Write clean, scalable, and secure code aligned with company technology standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
Collaboration and Mentorship:
Partner with product managers, architects, and DevOps teams to align technical strategy with business goals
Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical roadmap sessions
Process and Quality Assurance:
Drive adoption of automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment best practices
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance guidelines
Qualifications:
Expert-level proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Boot, and RESTful API design
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native applications
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and automated testing frameworks
Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching technologies (Redis)
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $170,000 or the hourly equivalent.
