Role: SCM Electrical Engineer

Summary
The Steering Column Module Design & Release Engineer will lead the design, development, validation, and production launch of steering column electronic systems for Scout''s next-generation electric vehicles. This role is responsible for the electrical and electronic integration of steering column modules, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of Tier 1 or OEM automotive electrical/electronics engineering experience, preferably as a Design & Release Engineer (DRE).
Experience developing Steering Column Modules (SCM) or related steering wheel controls, steering switches, clocksprings, or body electronics.
Strong knowledge of automotive electrical architecture, CAN/LIN communication protocols, and electronic module integration.
Experience managing Tier 1 suppliers through the full product development lifecycle, from concept through production launch.
Working knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, PPAP, and automotive engineering change management processes.
Experience supporting component validation, vehicle integration, and manufacturing launch activities.
Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and automotive quality standards is preferred.
