Role Summary
This fully remote contract position supports software asset management and procurement functions within an enterprise environment. The role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to assist the Product Owner team with software onboarding, consolidation, and strategic vendor management. The individual will serve as a key liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring accurate documentation and actionable insights for cost optimization and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding of new enterprise software titles into ServiceNow SAM Pro, including gathering requirements, conducting stakeholder interviews, and documenting business and technical needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data on software usage, versioning, contract end dates, and license information to ensure accurate asset tracking.
  • Identify redundant or overlapping software titles through data consolidation efforts and provide summaries and recommendations to the integration team.
  • Deliver actionable insights and reports to the Product Owner team to facilitate informed decision-making and compliance reporting.
  • Act as a primary communication point between product owners, developers, and end-user customers to coordinate software asset management activities.
  • Produce documented summaries, findings reports, and recommendations for leadership review and strategic planning.
  • Support software intake processes within ITSM or ITAM platforms by translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Conduct research on alternative VA-owned software solutions to optimize costs and reduce reliance on underutilized third-party applications.
  • Provide vendor management insights and support understanding of enterprise licensing models and lifecycle processes.
  • Assist in developing strategies for software consolidation, licensing compliance, and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, management, information systems, engineering, or related field; or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ServiceNow software asset management, IT procurement, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow SAM modules or similar ITSM/ITAM platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise software licensing, contract management, and asset lifecycle processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in data management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with federal or compliance-driven organizational settings is highly preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with tools such as Flexera, Snow Software, or similar, along with IAITAM CSAM or ITIL Foundation certifications.

Publishing Pay Range: $44.86 - $52.88 DOE / USD Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
