Salary: $137,000 - $153,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are a growing, global industrial manufacturing company, and we're making a major investment in modernizing our technology, data, analytics, and AI capabilities, including a move toward a unified Microsoft-based data environment. As such, we are building out our corporate Data & AI function to support this transformation.

We are seeking an experienced Data & AI Governance Manager to help establish and drive enterprise-wide standards for how data is defined, managed, governed, and used across a complex, multi-business organization.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role for someone who can combine data governance expertise, program management, change leadership, and strong business partnership skills. You will work across Finance, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, HR, and IT to create consistent data standards and improve the reliability of information used for reporting, analytics, and AI.

Please note: This is not a traditional Data Engineering role. Rather than building data pipelines and platforms, you will establish the standards, ownership, policies, and governance practices that guide how enterprise data is managed and used.

Why join us?
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Medical/health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Disability insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid sick time
  • Employee stock purchase plan
  • Wellness programs and resources, including mental and physical health initiatives
  • Career development and growth opportunities

  • Establish consistent definitions and ownership for enterprise KPIs, ensuring key business metrics are calculated and reported the same way across the organization.
  • Partner with business leaders and data owners to establish data quality, ownership, documentation, and accountability standards.
  • Develop and maintain governance standards for critical master data, including customers, vendors, products, projects, and workforce data.
  • Lead cross-functional governance meetings and help resolve disagreements regarding data definitions, ownership, quality, and standards.
  • Develop governance scorecards and track adoption, compliance, data quality, and overall governance maturity.
  • Build and execute a roadmap for expanding data governance practices throughout the organization.
  • Lead the change management and adoption efforts necessary to introduce new governance practices across decentralized business units.
  • Create training, communication, and stakeholder engagement strategies that help business teams understand and adopt new standards.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineering and Data Platform teams to ensure governance requirements are incorporated into the organization's Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Support governance activities related to ERP and business-system migrations, including data quality requirements and master data standards.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise policies covering data quality, classification, access, security, retention, lineage, and responsible AI usage.
  • Help establish governance processes for new AI use cases, including risk assessment, approval standards, and appropriate controls.
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Purview to support data cataloging, classification, lineage, policy management, and governance.
  • Partner with Legal, Security, IT, Finance, Operations, and other business functions to ensure data and AI policies align with business and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • 6-8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, enterprise analytics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a dedicated Data Governance Lead, Data Stewardship Lead, Data Governance Manager, or similar role.
  • Experience developing or implementing enterprise data governance programs, KPI standards, master data programs, or governance operating models.
  • Strong program management skills with experience coordinating complex initiatives involving multiple business units and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across an organization without relying on direct authority.
  • Experience leading organizational change, stakeholder adoption, and communication around new processes or standards.
