Title: SAN Engineer/Storage Engineer

Location: REMOTE (Need candidates local to Albany, NY)
Duration: 12 months contract

Description

Lead operational oversight of the Pure Storage (Everpure) platform, ensuring system availability, performance, and stability.
Monitor and manage code updates, platform maintenance activities, and operational health checks.
Review and approve storage capacity and space allocation requests while ensuring optimal resource utilization.
Coordinate with offshore support teams who handle entry-level operational tasks and daily maintenance activities.
Provide technical leadership and guidance for platform operations and issue resolution.
Support the final stages of the platform migration away from Pure Storage, assisting with transition activities, data cleanup, and system decommissioning tasks.
Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Maintain documentation related to platform configuration, operational procedures, and migration activities.

On-Call & Support Requirements

Participate in an on-call rotation, with expected after-hours engagement being minimal (approximately once per quarter).
In rare circumstances involving critical infrastructure needs (e.g., manual power off or hardware intervention), the role may require onsite presence, typically no more than 1 2 times annually.

Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms, preferably Pure Storage environments.
Strong understanding of platform operations, monitoring, and infrastructure maintenance.
Experience coordinating with offshore operational teams.
Ability to manage capacity planning and storage resource allocation.
Experience supporting infrastructure migrations and decommissioning activities.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments.
