Job Title: Monitoring Tools Engineers Job DescriptionSeeking an experienced Monitoring Tools Engineer to enhance and support enterprise-wide monitoring platforms. You will improve operational readiness by building e?ective thresholds, alerts, dashboards, and synthetic tests-enabling earlier issue detection, faster MTTR, and more reliable production environments. This role partners closely with application, engineering, and production support teams to drive monitoring best practices and tool adoption.
Responsibilities- Implement and manage Dynatrace (APM, Synthetic Monitoring) across a large application portfolio
- Implement and manage Splunk monitoring and dashboards
- Design and optimize monitoring events, alerts, dashboards, and thresholds
- Guide application teams on instrumentation and monitoring strategy
- Collaborate with Production Support and Engineering to maximize monitoring value
- Lead demos, training, and documentation to drive adoption
- Ensure monitoring supports e?ective incident and operational processes
Essential Skills- 3+ years hands-on with Dynatrace (configuration, troubleshooting)
- 3+ years hands-on with Splunk (configuration, troubleshooting)
- Experience with operational scripting and process improvement
- Strong understanding of application architecture, databases, networking, and system interdependencies
- Familiarity with ITIL and enterprise operational processes
- Experience with Unix and Windows environments
- General knowledge of: Large-scale data sets, DNS/BIND, IPsec VPNs, NAT, Windows Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, vSphere PowerCLI
- Systems Administrator, DBA, or Middleware Engineer
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale, globally distributed environments
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $72.00/hr.
