We are seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst 6 to support the State of Michigan's Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) in a staff augmentation capacity.
The resource will be responsible for managing and enhancing Application Build and Release processes, including implementing automation to support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) for testing activities. The position will support all phases of the application build process for Bridges and MiSACWIS.
Key Responsibilities
Manage source code control processes, including standards, software baselining, versioning, problem analysis, resolution, reporting, and tracking.
Develop and maintain build automation processes.
Serve as a technical advisor and primary liaison between DTMB/DHHS and vendor technical teams.
Provide technical expertise for performance-related issues involving Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
Deploy new releases of application build, configuration, and version management software.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to development teams regarding project administration and management.
Design and script automation workflows for reliable and efficient build and release operations.
Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to reduce build times and improve reliability and developer productivity.
Perform root-cause analysis of build and deployment failures and implement preventative and long-term corrective actions.
Create and maintain process documentation for SACWIS (ADO) and Bridges build processes.
Perform build and deployment activities across multiple Bridges environments.
Modify build and deployment tasks and variables to support established release processes.
Serve as an Azure DevOps Administrator for SACWIS builds and deployments.
Create and manage branches for different development stages across Release and Sandbox environments.
Assess ADO and build-process issues and determine whether they can be resolved internally or require external support.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience with higher-environment build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version-management processes.
10+ years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration and version management.
10+ years of experience deploying new releases of application, configuration, and version-management software.
10+ years of experience providing technical guidance and recommendations to systems development staff regarding project administration and management for applications using Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous State of Michigan experience.
Experience enhancing automated build processes for Bridges and MiSACWIS.
Strong experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) administration, builds, releases, pipelines, and branch management.
Experience with configuration management tools such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
Experience with build automation tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ant, and similar technologies.
Experience with version control tools including Git and Bitbucket.
Experience with issue and work tracking systems such as Jira and Azure DevOps Boards.
Strong scripting experience with Perl, Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
