Summary

Retail Organization Data, Insights & Analytics About the Role We are seeking a Data Experience Designer to support the discovery and definition of data products by focusing on the consumer experience of data, insights, and analytics. In this role, you will champion the end user ensuring that data products are intuitive, actionable, and designed around how people consume and act on information. You will act as a bridge between user needs and technical implementation, translating discovery insights into design artifacts that guide product teams from concept through refinement. Key Responsibilities Support the discovery and definition of data products by focusing on the consumer experience of data, insights, and analytics. Act as a bridge between user needs and technical implementation, ensuring design decisions are grounded in real user workflows and feasible for delivery teams. Produce low-fidelity wireframes, UX patterns, and visual guidance to support end-user discovery sessions and future refinement. Facilitate and support end-user discovery sessions, capturing needs, pain points, and consumption preferences for data and analytics experiences. Define and document reusable UX patterns for dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics experiences to promote consistency across data products. Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate user insights into actionable product requirements. Iterate on design artifacts based on user feedback, usability findings, and evolving business priorities. Support pairing with designated Client's team members to help inform longer-term role design and capability needs. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in UX design, product design, service design, or a related discipline ideally with exposure to data, analytics, or business intelligence products. Demonstrated ability to produce low-fidelity wireframes, journey maps, and UX patterns that communicate concepts quickly and invite feedback. Experience planning or supporting user discovery sessions, interviews, or workshops. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between business stakeholders, end users, and technical teams. Familiarity with data visualization principles and how users consume dashboards, reports, and insights. Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage discovery environments where requirements are still being defined. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a retail or consumer-facing organization, with an understanding of merchandising, supply chain, e-commerce, or store operations data. Familiarity with analytics and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and modern data product concepts. Experience contributing to design systems or reusable pattern libraries. Exposure to organizational design or capability-building work, such as informing role definitions and team structures. Working Relationships & Growth This role works closely with product owners, data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders across the retail organization. Beyond day-to-day design work, the Data Experience Designer may pair with designated Client's team members to share design practices, build internal capability, and help inform longer-term role design as the organization's data product function matures. Success in this role looks like: discovery sessions that surface real user needs, design artifacts that accelerate alignment between users and delivery teams, and data products that people understand and use. Education: Bachelors Degree
