Things that move people. Protect soldiers. Power industries. We serve customers in industries spanning aerospace and defense, specialized vehicles, turf care and fuel systems.

This role is in Textron System's Electronic Systems Domain. Visit TextronSystems.com to read more about who we are and the products we make!

About the Role

Textron Systems Electronic Systems is a leading developer of sophisticated geospatial analysis software solutions. Our GEOINT software products combine a wide range of satellite imagery analysis, Full Motion Video (FMV) exploitation, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) processing, 3D visualization, geodetic analysis, AI/ML based target recognition, LIDAR analysis, data management, and precision-positioning tools. We are looking for talented and innovative software development professionals to join our team and implement creative solutions to address the rapidly evolving GEOINT market.

If you're excited about building solutions that directly contribute to mission readiness, this is a place where your work truly matters.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Software Engineer - Build Systems & Deployment with strong programming experience, combined with expertise in software installer development, DevOps practices, and cloud-oriented deployments. This role supports the full lifecycle of software delivery-from application development to CI/CD workflows, container orchestration, and SaaS deployment. The ideal candidate is versatile, collaborative, and comfortable working across systems, infrastructure, and application layers. You will:

Design, develop, and maintain applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, and Python.

Integrate AI technology into our product capabilities.

Collaborate closely with software engineering and software test teams in highly dynamic environments to ensure seamless integration and performance on various types of systems.

Debug and troubleshoot applications and services deployed to a variety of environments ranging from tactical vehicles, desktops, and cloud platforms.

Work with program managers, customer support, senior engineers, and senior stakeholders to define, review, and execute system requirements, architecture, and technical roadmaps, while driving alignment with business goals and customer needs.

Contribute to technical sections of proposals or presentations occasionally to help our Sales teams drive home the value proposition of our technology.

Support project planning and monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance.

Mentoring and collaborating with small software development teams as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.

Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Expertise in object-oriented design principles and extensive experience with modern software engineering practices, including continuous integration, test-driven development, and best practices for maintainable, scalable systems design.

Experience developing software for both Linux and Windows platforms and a strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, VPNs, and network security fundamentals.

Proven experience creating installers for Windows (MSI, InstallShield, WiX, etc.) and Linux (DEB/RPM).

Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jira, Git, and scripting knowledge in Linux and Windows.

Strong understanding of containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and SaaS architectures (AWS, Azure, etc.), and cloud deployment strategies.

Experience maintaining infrastructure using Ansible (or similar configuration management tools like Chef, or Puppet) to eliminate manual provisioning and accelerate software development.

Ability to lead and mentor software engineering teams, with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Educational background or work experience in machine learning, image analysis, full motion video analysis, or GIS is a strong plus.

Track record of owning and delivering complex projects on time, meeting requirements in a high-stakes environment.

Why Join Us?

You'll work on meaningful technology that directly supports the warfighter by enabling real-time geospatial intelligence, collaborate with talented engineers across disciplines, and solve complex, real-world problems every day. If you enjoy blending software, hardware, and hands-on engineering challenges, you'll feel right at home here.
