Product Architect – Healthcare / AI
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Work Mode: Fully Remote – U.S.
Contract: 12 Months Contract-to-Hire
Job Description
We are seeking a Product Architect with strong healthcare domain experience and hands-on expertise in AI, full-stack development, AWS, TypeScript, and Node.js. The ideal candidate has architected and delivered scalable SaaS products in production, preferably within healthcare/HIPAA-regulated environments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Product Architect / Software Architect / Solutions Architect for SaaS products
- Strong Healthcare / Healthcare IT domain experience
- Hands-on experience with AI/Generative AI and AI-enabled applications
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js development experience
- Strong React experience
- Expert-level AWS architecture experience
- AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, ElastiCache, CloudFront, Aurora/PostgreSQL
- Strong PostgreSQL experience; Aurora Serverless v2 is a plus
- Experience designing scalable, secure and high-performance applications
- Strong REST API design experience; FHIR API experience is a plus
- Experience with AWS CDK, Terraform, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure as Code
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, PHI, encryption, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty and healthcare security
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture
- Strong knowledge of event-driven/serverless architecture
- Experience providing technical leadership, architecture documentation and mentoring
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- Experience using AI coding/design tools, especially Claude or similar
Healthcare Preferred
- EHR / EMR architecture experience
- FHIR R4 / SMART on FHIR
- HL7 / HL7v2 integrations
- Mirth, Rhapsody, or similar healthcare interface engines
- Experience with ONC certification
- Experience in post-acute, skilled nursing, assisted living, or clinical systems
- HIPAA / SOC 2 / HITRUST experience
