Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Lead responsible for system engineering on a new and potential current effort that involves many aspects of satellite ground systems and space operations concepts. This role involves leading a team of systems engineers developing ICDs, requirements, concepts, and prototypes for a new system. The Candidate will coordinate with cross program architects to ensure the developed system aligns with overarching goals, capabilities, and deliveries.
Excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills are required as this role will have direct customer interface responsibilities as well as a key leadership role in a dynamic team environment. The Candidate will also help mentor future generations of systems engineers as a key part of their leadership role. The candidate will be responsible for technical study execution and assessment, system design, reliability analysis, system hardware/software integration, and risk management. The candidate will work closely with system developers, test, and support personnel in support system prototyping and execution.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $165,000-$205,000

- Work closely with Program leadership to ensure all System Engineering requirements are met and tracked using engineering tools such as JAMA, CMPro, and Model Based Engineering (MBSE) tools (Cameo, Enterprise Architect)
- Lead/Conduct studies and capture technical analysis
- Support all required IPTs, TEMs, WGs and Ad hoc meetings
- Participate in CDRLs generation and deliveries
- Provide technical advice to our customers on system architectures design
- Participate in requirement's decomposition and analysis
- Support Reliability analysis
- Develop and deliver effective customer presentations (design reviews, status reports, kickoff meetings, support test plans) demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably at a system level (SRR, PDR, CDR, GR)
- Travel as necessary to attend conferences and customer meetings
Experience and Skills
- 10+ years engineering
- BS in SE, CS, EE, ME, or other engineering equivalent
- Support programs through SRR, PDR, CDR or equivalent design reviews
- Experience with satellite ground systems
- Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure capabilities to include virtualization, cloud deployment and containerization (CNFs)
- Candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable with supporting multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers.
- Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms both internally to the team as well as externally to the customer and users.
- Working knowledge of space systems, including satellite ground systems
- Ground Entry Point (GEP) Design, Implementation, and verification experience
- Experience with military space operations
- Experience leading a team conducting MBSE modeling of a system of systems
- Must currently have a Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
