Summary

About the Role

We are partnering with a Tier 1 investment bank on its Fixed Income eTrading platform, where next-generation systems are being written from the ground up in Rust. As a technology solutions provider, our engineering teams are delivering modern, high-performance infrastructure across both pricing/distribution and hedging/algorithmic trading.

In this role, you will be embedded alongside our client's core eTrading engineers to build critical components at the heart of the new platform. You will apply hard-won low-latency C++ engineering principles to design, benchmark, and deploy low-latency eTrading systems in Rust, taking ownership of core delivery while examining and transitioning capabilities from existing C++ codebases.

Location: New York City, NY (hybrid - 3 days/week office attendance).
Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for a low-latency specialist who wants to build trading infrastructure properly from line one. The ground-up Rust mandate offers a rare opportunity to apply deep C++ performance instincts in a modern language free from legacy constraints. You will excel here if you thrive in a senior, engineering-focused team working close to the trading business.

Essential functions
What You'll Work On
  • Greenfield Rust Engineering: Build core low-latency eTrading systems from the ground up in Rust.
  • C++ Codebase Analysis: Examine and analyze existing C++ trading systems to guide system architecture and migration.
  • Algorithmic Trading & Hedging: Develop high-frequency pricing, market distribution, and automated hedging capabilities.
  • Latency Engineering: Treat performance as a first-class concern through disciplined profiling, benchmarking, memory layout optimization, and designing for predictable ultra-low latency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with client eTrading engineers and the trading desk as the platform scales.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
  • Low-Latency C++ Foundations: Strong C++ background with proven experience engineering ultra-low-latency electronic trading systems.
  • Rust Capability or Aptitude: Hands-on Rust experience, or a genuine enthusiasm and drive to master Rust for low-latency production applications.
  • Mechanical Sympathy: Deep understanding of low-level fundamentals-memory layouts, cache efficiency, lock-free concurrency techniques, and performance profiling.
  • Production Trading Systems: Proven track record building, deploying, and supporting mission-critical trading infrastructure.
  • Autonomy & Communication: Clear communication skills with the independence to own complex technical tasks, design robust solutions, and drive execution.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field.

Would be a plus
Highly Valued (Nice to Have)
  • Production Rust: Commercial experience deploying Rust services into production environments.
  • Fixed Income Domain: Domain knowledge in Fixed Income or Rates-RFQ workflows, automated quoting, hedging strategies, or algorithmic execution.
  • Greenfield Delivery: Experience taking greenfield trading platforms from initial architectural design through to live production deployment.

We offer
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects
  • Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule
  • Benefits package - medical insurance, vision, dental, etc.
  • Corporate social events
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Well-equipped office
  • Please note that all onboarding must occur in person and you may be asked to travel to attend
