Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to provide project management support for multiple technology implementation initiatives. This role will support critical programs including Provider Enrollment & Credentialing, MMIS System Modernization, and Medicaid HR-1 projects.

This is primarily a remote position; however, the selected candidate must be available to travel to Pierre and/or Sioux Falls, SD at least quarterly, or as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of business and data analysts to oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise IT transformation projects
• Define strategic direction for enterprise-level IT initiatives
• Gather and define business and technical requirements in collaboration with product owners, SMEs, and scrum teams
• Manage large-scale enterprise IT projects as well as smaller project initiatives
• Coordinate with development teams and vendors to ensure successful implementation
• Support business and operations teams with system analysis and testing activities
• Prepare project status reports, executive updates, and risk documentation
• Ensure project governance, monitoring controls, and compliance are maintained
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and delivery milestones
• Mentor state personnel in project management best practices and knowledge transfer

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience managing enterprise IT projects and technology implementations
• PMP Certification preferred or equivalent project management experience
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, and other SDLC methodologies
• Experience applying project management governance principles and controls
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills

📍 Work Location: Remote with required travel to Pierre and/or Sioux Falls, SD on a quarterly/as-needed basis
