Overview

Optum Insight is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Core Clinical Orders Sub-Domain team (12 15 team members) in supporting our ongoing clinical systems modernization. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in Epic systems, technical configurations, and integrations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex clinical business needs into robust system changes, utilizing modern digital tools and technologies to improve clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• System Implementation & Administration: Implement, modify, test, and administer complex business applications and technical solutions, specializing in Epic environments.

• Requirements & Workflow Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis of user and business needs to deliver end-to-end technical solutions from concept to delivery.

• System Design & Documentation: Design screens, workflows, reports, and interfaces; draft clear functional and technical specifications for system changes.

• Issue & Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex system/application issues, handling both user-reported and vendor-reported incidents. Serve as an escalation point for technical configurations and integrations.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead meetings, facilitate team problem-solving sessions, and collaborate across various capability sub-domains.

• Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors and resolve vendor-related technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic Certification/Proficiency: Active certification or proficiency in Epic Orders, Order Transmittal, Order Sets, and/or ICON, backed by 3+ years of experience.

• Epic Build Experience: 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in an Epic technical build role.

• Healthcare BSA Experience: 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis or a related technical role within the healthcare industry.

• Communication & Presentation: Strong analytical and communication skills, with a track record of presenting system prototypes and functional models to business users.
