OverviewThe Operations Maintenance Technician supports Cardinal Health's Sustainable Technologies facility, a regulated reprocessing center for medical devices. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving equipment used in materials handling, product distribution, and semi-automated processes within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
The technician ensures equipment performance, reliability, and safety through routine maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of maintenance principles and company policies to complete a wide variety of technical tasks.
- Perform maintenance, testing, and repairs on equipment such as printers, packaging mechanisms, and semi-automated systems.
- Use precision measuring devices, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, and ongoing training.
- Meet preventive maintenance (PM) compliance requirements and complete quality-related training.
- Work on moderately complex assignments requiring good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Review and provide feedback on processes for new assignments when appropriate.
- Support quality standards and ensure all work adheres to regulatory and facility guidelines.
- Work with limited supervision while producing consistent, high-quality results.
- Occasionally review work completed by others or provide general guidance to less experienced team members.
- Ability to lift materials/equipment as required by the role.
Required Skills and Competencies- Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using precision measuring tools, power tools, and general workshop equipment.
- Troubleshooting Ability: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment problems.
- Technical Understanding: Working knowledge of related systems inside and outside core responsibility area.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a regulated environment.
- Experience with Electrical and Pneumatic Systems
Qualifications- 2-4 years of relevant maintenance or technical experience (preferred).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent work experience also accepted.
- Technical diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Systems, Mechanics, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
