Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java Software Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves consulting on moderately complex initiatives within a Software Engineering team. The ideal candidate will leverage a strong Java technology stack, including Spring Boot and Microservices, to review, analyze, and resolve technical challenges. This position operates in an Agile development environment and requires collaboration with client personnel.
Responsibilities: - Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning
- Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet deliverables
- Leverage a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering
Requirements: - 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Object-Oriented development, Spring Boot, Microservices, and API development
- Cloud experience (PCF and/or AWS)
- Experience with CI/CD and version control tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Gradle, or Maven
- Experience deploying applications in a PCF environment
- Hands-on experience in messaging frameworks such as Kafka
- Experience with front-end frameworks like Angular or React
- Experience with testing frameworks such as jUnit
- Work experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Good understanding of RDBMS databases (SQL Server preferred)
- Experience with an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and identify fixes
Desired skills: - Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Pivotal CF
- Experience with TDD/BDD methodologies
Pay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hour
