Summary

Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Sarasota. This contract-to-permanent position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure to support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to resolving complex network issues, optimizing performance, and mentoring entry-level team members.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to maintain seamless connectivity.

Evaluate and recommend vendors, equipment, and software to improve network efficiency and meet organizational needs.

Develop and execute plans for upgrading network systems to support evolving customer requirements.

Manage network modifications, including cable installations, port activations, and equipment setups.

Mentor and train entry-level team members on emerging networking technologies and best practices.

Maintain and update network documentation, including IP databases, diagrams, and equipment configurations.

Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard network integrity.

Monitor and manage virtual private networks (VPNs) and wireless networks to ensure uninterrupted service.

Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver project cost estimates and allocate resources effectively.

Requirements

Proven expertise with Cisco routers, switches, and related technologies.
Strong knowledge of Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
In-depth understanding of WAN and LAN infrastructure, including switching and routing protocols.
Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues.
Proficiency in managing Cisco VPNs and implementing secure network solutions.
Familiarity with OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) and other routing protocols.
Ability to maintain detailed network documentation and system configurations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and guide team members.
