Network Engineer - Remote (Local to Orlando, FL,)

Job Description:

• The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructures for our SunState Medical practice located in Florida.
• Working closely with the IT team and practice managers, you will ensure seamless connectivity, optimize network performance, and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare operations.
• Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding sensitive healthcare data and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and information.
• This role will also be instrumental execution of major IT projects and lifecycle refresh of practice network hardware.

Responsibilities 

• Design and implement robust and scalable network architectures for SunState Medical, considering factors such as security, performance, and reliability. 
• Configure and deploy network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring proper connectivity and integration. 
• Assist with project execution tasks throughout the SMS Practices and the Orlando datacenter. 
• Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard sensitive patient data and comply with healthcare security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST). 
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for anomalies and security breaches, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks. 
• Monitor network performance and analyze data to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and other network-related problems. 
• Optimize network configurations and protocols to ensure efficient data transmission and reliable connectivity. 
• Diagnose and resolve network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution. 
• Conduct root cause analysis of network incidents and implement preventive measures. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures. 
• Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to ensure network reliability and security. 
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to clinical operations. 
• Provide guidance and mentorship, sharing knowledge and best practices 
• Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience with technical hands-on technical Network Engineering roles. 
• Fortinet networks experience required. 
• Palo Alto Firewall Experience is a plus. 
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice setting. 
• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and troubleshooting techniques. 
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST. 
• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. 
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. 
• Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry trends.
• Fortinet networks experience a must
