Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Experience Required: 10+ years preferred (10 20 years overall IT experience ideal)
Work Schedule: Must work Central Time Zone hours (9:00 AM 4:00 PM CST)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud Strategy Consultant to support the Marketing Department. The consultant will play a key role in transforming marketing operations, focusing on enhancing customer engagement, optimizing customer journeys, and significantly improving Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
This role is part of a broader corporate revamp initiative, where the marketing team is taking greater ownership of end-to-end marketing processes, shifting from transactional marketing toward relationship-driven engagement strategies.
While the position is fully remote, candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Minneapolis, MN area are strongly preferred. The role requires periodic in-person meetings (approximately monthly) in downtown Minneapolis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement personalized, multi-channel customer journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
- Lead strategy initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and improve NPS scores.
- Integrate closed-loop feedback mechanisms within marketing journeys.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to drive ownership of marketing performance metrics.
- Support segmentation, personalization, and lifecycle marketing strategies.
- Contribute to corporate marketing transformation initiatives.
Strategic Focus Areas
- Closed-Loop NPS Integration
- Deploy triggered NPS surveys through Journey Builder at key customer touchpoints.
- Automate detractor management workflows (e.g., case/task creation for low NPS scores).
- Activate promoters through referral, advocacy, and testimonial campaigns.
- Personalization & Customer Loyalty
- Utilize dynamic content and behavioral data to tailor communications.
- Align engagement data with customer satisfaction metrics.
- Prevent promotional outreach to customers experiencing active issues.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment
- Segment audiences based on NPS scores for targeted upsell and cross-sell initiatives.
- Implement predictive churn identification strategies.
- Leverage data insights to improve both customer retention and close rates.
- Survey Optimization
- Ensure surveys are brief, contextual, and channel-appropriate (Email, SMS, In-App).
- Analyze qualitative feedback for root-cause insights and campaign refinement.

Relocation & Experience Considerations
- Candidates willing to relocate to Minneapolis on Day 1 will be considered.
- Previous hires under the same leadership have had 4+ years of experience; however, 6 10 years of relevant SFMC experience is preferred for this role.
