Senior Consultant Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a hybrid Senior Consultant Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. The duration for this role is 900 hours in Charleston, SC.

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Consultant with strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (CNV/KubeVirt) to support a large-scale enterprise virtualization initiative. This consultant will lead the design, implementation, migration, and optimization of virtualized workloads within OpenShift environments while partnering closely with infrastructure, platform, and application teams.

Core Responsibilities:
* Design and implement Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (CNV/KubeVirt) solutions
* Assess and migrate virtual machine workloads from traditional virtualization platforms into OpenShift
* Deploy, configure, and support OpenShift clusters and virtualization services
* Collaborate with customer teams to establish architecture, operational standards, and best practices
* Troubleshoot complex issues involving compute, networking, storage, and platform performance
* Create technical documentation, migration plans, and operational runbooks
* Provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer throughout the engagement

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering experience
* Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes administration
* Strong experience with OpenShift Virtualization (CNV/KubeVirt)
* Experience supporting enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, KVM, or Red Hat Virtualization
* Strong Linux administration experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
* Experience planning and executing virtualization or platform modernization projects
* Understanding of networking, storage, and enterprise infrastructure architecture
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Travel is required; Consultant should expect to be onsite weekly during the initial phase of the engagement, transitioning to an alternating week onsite/week remote schedule; Travel and expenses are billable

Preferred Qualifications:
* Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, OpenShift certifications)
* Experience with Ansible Automation Platform
* Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
* Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
* Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
