Site Reliability Engineer - Linux Systems Analysis

Position Summary

The Site Reliability Engineers are part of the Platform Engineering team and provide advanced support for solution deployments in production customer environments. The Platform Engineering team deals with complex infrastructure to improve performance, visibility, availability, and reliability with a focus on using codified, scripted, or automated solutions.

 Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Evaluate and install hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications. 
• Monitor the performance of systems and networks. 
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade server hardware and software. 
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance. 
• Perform routine network troubleshooting and maintain documentation records. 
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. 
• Conduct tests and perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks perform security and quality controls. 
• Operate, maintain hardware, software, and related server equipment. 
• Maintain server hardware and software and monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance. 

Position requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field. 
• Ability to write, debug and analyze programming languages including but not limited to Bash, and Python. 
• Ability to triage complex customer issues in an expedient and professional manner.
• Deep understanding of Redhat (Ceph Storage)  in a production environment.If you have Ceph Storage, please highlight it in your resume or cover letter.
• System administration and configuration experience in LINUX (expert level preferred)
• Solid understanding of network and web technologies e.g., TCP, HTTP, REST. 
• Three years of Agile methods and processes experience.
