Technical Project Manager - Tier 1 Application UpgradeWork Requirement: 100% Remote

Role Summary- An enterprise organization is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a multi-phase upgrade of a Tier 1 enterprise application. The platform is an Application Extender / Content Management Workflow system that is currently several versions behind and requires a structured, low-risk upgrade path to reach the latest supported release.
- This role is critical to ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of a business-critical system used across the organization. The Technical Project Manager will own end-to-end delivery, coordinating across internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and multiple external vendors to successfully complete the final upgrade by November 2026.
- This position requires deep experience managing complex, multi-version application upgrades, strong technical acumen, and exceptional stakeholder and vendor management skills within a regulated, enterprise environment.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management- Proven experience managing multiple external vendors simultaneously
- Oversight of SOWs, SLAs, deliverables, and dependencies
- Issue escalation and executive-level communication
- Coordination across software publishers, system integrators, and internal teams
Risk, Compliance, and Change Control- Experience operating in regulated environments
- Strong risk and issue management discipline
- Familiarity with formal change control processes (e.g., CAB)
- Alignment with security, audit, and compliance requirements for Tier 1 systems
Planning, Delivery, and Executive Reporting- Ability to build and maintain integrated project schedules
- Dependency management and milestone forecasting
- Clear, concise executive-level status reporting with actionable risk narratives
Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience with ECM or content management workflow platforms (e.g., Application Extender or similar)
- Experience in financial services or credit union environments
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Agile (SAFe/CSM), or ITIL
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & Planning- Lead the end-to-end upgrade of a Tier 1 Application Extender / content management workflow system
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies through November 2026
- Manage phased upgrades, regression testing cycles, cutover planning, and post-deployment stabilization
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and change management processes
Technical Project Management- Partner closely with application development, infrastructure, security, QA, and operations teams
- Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for business stakeholders
- Identify and manage risks related to legacy systems, version gaps, integrations, and vendor dependencies
- Ensure completion of required documentation, testing artifacts, and validation deliverables
Stakeholder & Vendor Management- Act as the primary point of contact for multiple external vendors
- Lead vendor planning sessions and track deliverables and SLAs
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to executive sponsors and technology leadership
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional working sessions
Financial & Operational Management- Track project budgets, forecasts, and vendor invoices
- Manage scope, change requests, and prioritization
- Ensure delivery remains on time, on budget, and aligned with operational and compliance standards
Required QualificationsCore Experience- Demonstrated success delivering enterprise technology initiatives
- Proven experience leading large-scale application upgrades, especially multi-version upgrades
- Experience managing Tier 1 or mission-critical systems with high availability requirements
- Ability to manage long-term, multi-year projects with fixed deadlines
Technical Expertise- Strong experience as a Technical Project Manager
- Hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems
- Workflow or Application Extender platforms
- Complex integrations and data dependencies
- Solid understanding of:
- SDLC and release management
- Infrastructure and application architecture
- Testing, deployment, and cutover strategies
Methodologies & Tools- Experience with Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall delivery models
- Proficiency with enterprise PM tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Ability to create detailed schedules, RAID logs, and executive-level reporting

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr.
