Job Title: Point of Sale (POS) Business Analyst

Bridge business operations and POS technology as a seasoned analyst optimizing retail POS systems. Drive requirements gathering, UAT, system configuration, and stakeholder collaboration ensuring seamless daily operations and strategic improvements.

Role Summary

Analyze, implement, and optimize retail/hospitality POS systems gathering requirements, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing functionality. Bridge business needs and IT through system configuration, inventory management, marketing promotions, and comprehensive UAT ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

System Configuration & Optimization

• Implement updates and manage configuration changes for POS, inventory management, and e-commerce systems.
• Maintain system parameters, user roles, security settings, and business rules alignment.
• Optimize POS functionality supporting daily operations, promotions, and reporting requirements.

Requirements & Process Analysis

• Gather and document business requirements from store managers, operations teams, and corporate stakeholders.
• Map end-to-end workflows from customer checkout through inventory replenishment and financial reconciliation.
• Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and functional specifications for IT/developer teams.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) validating POS functionality, marketing initiatives (coupons, promotions, loyalty), inventory processes, and hardware integrations.
• Develop test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria covering edge cases and business rules.
• Coordinate defect resolution and regression testing for system updates and new features.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide Level 1/2 support resolving POS technical issues, configuration problems, and user errors.
• Root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
• Support end-users (cashiers, managers, corporate) with system functionality and troubleshooting.

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

• Analyze sales transaction data, inventory trends, and operational KPIs identifying improvement opportunities.
• Generate actionable insights and recommendations enhancing system performance and business outcomes.
• Support management reporting requirements through data extraction and dashboard configuration.

Project Coordination

• Support POS rollout projects, system upgrades, and new store openings collaborating with PMs and vendors.
• Coordinate vendor integrations (payment processors, loyalty providers, ecommerce platforms).

Required Experience & Expertise

Experience Profile (Must-Have)

• 6+ years POS / Retail Systems Business Analysis
• Proven Oracle Xstore or equivalent POS implementation experience
• End-to-end UAT leadership for POS rollouts
• Marketing promotion testing (coupons, loyalty programs)
• Inventory and ecommerce system integration experience
• Stakeholder management across store operations and IT
