We at Coforge are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Test Governance Consultant to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our software testing practices are robust, compliant with Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and System Development, Acquisition and Maintenance (SDAM) standards, and in alignment with industry-leading Quality Engineering (QE) standards. The consultant will drive the upliftment with a focus on continuous improvement of test governance framework, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and delivery of high-quality software across all business units.
Key Responsibilities:
SDLC Testing Governance Adherence:
- Ensure that all Quality Engineering (QE) activities are performed in strict accordance with the organization's SDAM standards and controls. This includes verifying that each release phase-planning, development, testing, deployment, and post-release review-demonstrates full compliance with change management, quality assurance, and risk management requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for all matters related to software testing processes, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to compliance in Software testing / QE. Monitor adherence to regulatory and internal controls, conduct regular audits and self-assessments, and develop mitigation strategies for identified risks.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Lead efforts to assess and mitigate risks associated with software testing and its evidence.
Upliftment and Implementation:
- Uplift with a focus on continuous improvement based on the objectives and compliance alignment
- Develop and execute communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed of upcoming process changes.
- Hands on experience on creating enterprise / release test strategies or plans
- Facilitate governance forums and decision-making meetings, providing transparent reporting / documentation for internal reviews/audits, external audits, support reviews/ audit walkthroughs, and facilitate the remediation efforts as needed.
Training and Enablement:
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate teams about SDLC testing governance and its best practices. Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across technology and business teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with product owners, architects, development teams, QA, operations, and risk/compliance partners. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology solutions, and governance mandates.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Serve as a liaison between IT, compliance, audit, and business teams to ensure cohesive understanding and execution of release management processes, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and compliance metrics for testing governance. Prepare and present detailed reports to leadership and governance boards, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously refine testing / QE processes and controls. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify process gaps, integrate lessons learned, audits, 1LOD/2LOD reviews and implement best practices to enhance SDLC governance and delivery quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software testing delivery, test governance, or quality engineering roles in regulated financial services or technology environments.
- Deep knowledge of FFIEC guidelines or other regulatory frameworks relevant to banking and financial institutions.
- Experience designing and implementing test governance or quality assurance frameworks aligned to regulatory and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with QE tools and methodologies (e.g., test automation, CI/CD, Azure DevOps (ADO), test environment management, test data management, risk-based testing).
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, Agile/DevOps practices, and software risk management.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
