Application Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Application Developer in Cupertino, CA.

Duties:
* Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain Spark jobs using Scala and Python for large-scale data processing
* Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code in Scala, Python, and Unix shell scripting
* Build, schedule, and monitor data pipelines using Apache Airflow
* Develop and support data solutions on Azure Synapse and Databricks platforms
* Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot workloads in Kubernetes environments
* Integrate and monitor data pipelines using Datadog for observability and alerting
* Perform hands-on coding and actively participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
* Support data refresh activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in production and pre-production environments
* Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for new and existing data pipelines
* Conduct root cause analysis and debugging for data issues, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Manage GIT branches, including code merges, pull requests, and version control best practices
* Standardize data engineering processes and ensure adherence to coding and deployment standards
* As an Application Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product owners, and QA, to deliver high-quality solutions
* Document technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures
* Monitor job performance, optimize resource usage, and implement improvements for reliability and scalability
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
* Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with organizational policies
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering

REQUIREMENTS:
* MCP +internet or other certifications like Win 95/98/NT/Unix, Java Script, VB Script, PERL, XML, HTML, SQL Server, Oracle, Progress, MS Front Page, Cold Fusion, Visual Interdev, ActiveX and Java Applets, ISAPI/NSAPI or MS IIS
* Must be experienced with performance aspects of application development
* Knowledge of authorizing tools and human interface
* Knowledge of DBMSs, development methodology, standards, design tools and specification representation
* Knowledge of web design principles and standards, firewall and network security and Internet database connectivity

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
