A venture-backed consumer technology startup in Chicago is hiring a Senior or Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to help scale a high-traffic, real-time digital platform centered around live events, subscription experiences, and online communities. The organization is in a pivotal growth phase, rebuilding and expanding its engineering team with experienced builders who want meaningful ownership. This is a position based in Chicago with in-person collaboration 5 days a week. Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications in production environments
Strong backend development skills and experience designing APIs and scalable systems
Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience working on consumer-facing products with significant user volume
Background in subscription platforms, financial systems, marketplaces, or live data applications
Experience in startup or early-stage environments
Familiarity with Python, TypeScript, or similar modern languages
Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
Product-focused mindset with strong ownership mentality

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown: Full-stack development using modern backend services and contemporary frontend frameworks
Daily Responsibilities: Approximately 80% hands-on engineering / 20% system design and cross-functional collaboration
Designing, building, and improving core product features
Developing scalable systems that support real-time user interaction
Partnering closely with product and leadership on technical decisions
Contributing to architectural direction and engineering best practices
Collaborating daily with a small, tight-knit team
