Job Title: Backend Developer – Golang & Kubernetes

Location: Sab Diego, CA
Type: Long-term Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Golang and Kubernetes to join our client’s engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of Application Development and Customer Support, helping ensure seamless rollout and troubleshooting of a Kubernetes-based application that powers large-scale systems in production. You’ll work closely with both development and support teams—troubleshooting deployments, optimizing configurations using Helm charts, and feeding valuable insights back into the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize Golang-based applications running on bare-metal Kubernetes clusters.
Use Helm charts to manage and adjust application deployments.
Collaborate with the Application Development and Support teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Automate installation and deployment tasks using Ansible.
Support the Customer Service team during rollout of new Kubernetes-based applications.
Provide feedback to engineering teams on deployment experiences and suggest improvements.
Participate in debugging sessions and root-cause analysis for application issues.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and running backend applications (not cluster administration).
Solid programming experience in Golang.
Familiarity with Helm charts, YAML configurations, and Kubernetes manifests.
Good understanding of application deployment pipelines and CI/CD concepts.
Experience working with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
Experience with Next.js (React) or Express.js is helpful but not required.

Nice-to-Have

Familiarity with 5G Core or telecom environments (3GPP) — a plus but not essential.
Experience with monitoring tools and observability in Kubernetes environments.
