The Analyst supports system-wide planning by developing and improving analytical tools and assumptions across load forecasting, customer programs, and transmission, distribution, and resource planning. This role bridges engineering and analytics, combining technical expertise with data-driven insights to strengthen integrated system planning. The Analyst manages complex data environments, contributes to planning assumptions, and helps advance SRP's transition toward more cohesive, forward-looking planning processes and tools.

Key responsibilities include enhancing and integrating planning models and platforms, improving analytical capabilities, and ensuring alignment of inputs and assumptions across functions. This includes supporting the design and execution of a strategic roadmap for industry-leading planning tools, elevating SRP's capabilities to meet evolving system challenges. Collaborating cross-functionally, the Analyst plays a critical role in modernizing SRP's Integrated System Plan and driving more efficient, informed, and integrated planning outcomes.

Typically uses dedicated business intelligence applications and/or cloud services, but may also leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors.

What You'll Do

  • Support the development and execution of a strategic roadmap to modernize SRP's planning tools and advance integrated system planning capabilities. Enhance planning systems by integrating models and tools, improving analytical capabilities, and connecting data inputs and outputs across platforms.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to assess current and emerging planning tools; recommend solutions aligned with Transmission, Distribution, and Resource Planning needs.
  • Monitor, benchmark, and evaluate industry models, tools, and best practices, providing actionable insights to guide SRP's planning evolution.
  • Develop and maintain structured data environments, including databases that document assumptions and inputs for planning scenarios, sensitivities, and key initiatives (e.g., ISP, Annual Plan, special studies).
  • Create clear and impactful dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply data science and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Power BI) to extract, analyze, and interpret structured and unstructured data.
  • Predict future outcomes using historical data combined with simulations, statistical modeling, data mining techniques and/or machine learning.
  • Identify expected utilization and associated costs of SRP assets. Provide analysis support for policies, practices, and business decisions to optimize asset portfolio and utilization.
  • Analyze the future economic and operational impacts of policy proposals including regulatory proposals. Develop responses to these proposals on an SRP-specific and state-wide basis.
