Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise data architecture within the Data & Automation portfolio. This role is critical in defining scalable, secure, and high performing data platforms that support batch, API, and real time streaming workloads while enabling trusted, business ready data across the enterprise.
Future duties and responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment with business, application, and technology strategies
- Design scalable data models and architecture for operational, analytical, and real time data platforms
- Develop architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for data integration, storage, governance, and security
- Lead the design of modern data platforms supporting batch, API, and event driven architectures using cloud native technologies
- Define enterprise data integration strategies leveraging ETL/ELT, APIs, Kafka, and other streaming technologies
- Establish data governance standards including metadata management, data quality, lineage, master data management (MDM), and reference data
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
- Ensure data architecture supports regulatory, security, privacy, and compliance requirements within the financial services environment
- Define strategies for data lifecycle management, retention, archival, and disaster recovery
- Drive architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and modernization initiatives across enterprise data platforms
- Partner with DevOps and platform engineering teams to establish scalable, observable, and resilient data platforms
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and promote architecture governance and best practices
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data engineering, or information management
- 5+ years of experience designing modern enterprise data platforms and cloud-based data architectures
- Strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) for operational and analytical systems
- Extensive experience with data integration technologies including ETL/ELT, APIs, and event driven architecture
- Experience designing data solutions using Apache Kafka or similar streaming platforms
- Strong understanding of cloud data services across AWS and Azure
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks including metadata management, data quality, lineage, and master data management
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data security, privacy, regulatory compliance, and data lifecycle management
- Experience working within banking or financial services organizations
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and architecture documentation skills
- Experience leading architecture reviews and providing technical leadership across cross functional teams
- Knowledge of observability platforms such as Dynatrace, LogScale, or Elastic
- Experience with data catalog and governance tools such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, or Informatica
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) and architecture certifications are highly desirable
- Experience supporting enterprise AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives
