A major medical school in the NYC area is seeking a REDCap SME to support ongoing research efforts with 5k+ active studies. Seeking strong expertise in designing complex REDCap workflows, providing administrative support ( user access, configurations, upgrades), training researchers on how to use the platform, and acting as the go to support person to help with any troubleshooting. This is a W2 contract with intentions to convert to full time employment. Must be in NYC office 1-2 days/week. Please include targeted compensation and an updated resume with application.
Job Summary:
The REDCap Administrator (Functional title) supports end users in design, implementation, and support of electronic data capture solutions using the REDCap platform to address research and operational data collection needs, and defines the methods for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing these systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works with researchers, clinical staff, and business stakeholders to identify and specify complex data collection requirements and workflows (e.g., longitudinal studies, surveys, integrations, and multi-site projects). Analyzes existing project designs and system issues, troubleshooting errors and revising configurations and workflows as necessary.
2. Designs and develops REDCap projects as needed, including databases, instruments, surveys, and complex logic (e.g., branching logic, calculated fields, and automated workflows).
3. Designs, implements, and supports data integrations and interoperability workflows between REDCap and enterprise research and clinical systems (e.g., EPIC via Clinical Data Pull or other integrations, OnCore, etc) ensuring accurate data exchange, compliance with data governance standards, and alignment with research and operational needs.
4. Manages user access, roles, permissions, and audit controls to ensure appropriate data security, regulatory compliance, and adherence to institutional policies.
5. Researches and evaluates system configurations, external modules, and integration options (e.g., APIs, EMR interfaces) and recommends efficient and cost-effective solutions.
6. Works with IT teams, data engineering, and research teams to support system installation, upgrades, maintenance, and performance monitoring of the REDCap environment.
7. Provides end-user support, consultation, and training to investigators and staff on REDCap functionality, best practices, and study implementation.
8. Designs and executes system and user acceptance testing plans to ensure accurate data capture, system functionality, and data integrity.
9. Develops and maintains documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base materials related to REDCap usage and administration.
10. May provide guidance and direction to junior analysts, research staff, or REDCap users in system design and data management practices.
11. May act as a project lead for REDCap-related initiatives, including system enhancements, integrations, and institutional rollouts.
12. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, public health, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience Requirements
Four years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, clinical research systems, or data management, including experience with electronic data capture systems such as REDCap

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
