Summary

Sodexo is seeking a Clinical Engineering Cyber Specialist to oversee and execute critical technical components of our healthcare cybersecurity program for Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, CA.

This role leads the implementation of cybersecurity controls, performs risk assessments, and collaborates closely with hospital IT and InfoSec teams to ensure the security and availability of medical devices.

The role of an individual contributor within the organization focuses on completing specific tasks and projects; contributing directly through their skills and expertise. Performs specialized technical tasks to support operations. Work is primarily achieved independently, however may collaborate with a team.

Pay Range: $81685 - $105710

What's in it for you

Lead medical device cybersecurity efforts by managing CMMS data, collecting manufacturer security documentation, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing vulnerability remediation activities, including patching, upgrades, and corrective actions.

Partner with hospital IT and vendors to support network segmentation, cybersecurity investigations, and device-related IT projects. Monitor vulnerabilities, report remediation metrics, improve processes, and maintain CMMS data integrity.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment to ensure reliable patient care across clinical settings.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain compliance.
  • Uphold regulatory standards and promote a safety-first environment, supporting audits and remediation efforts.
  • Maintain accurate service records, analyze data trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve technical issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor and train team members to enhance technical skills and overall service quality.

What you'll bring

Strong healthcare technology and/ or IT cybersecurity experience supporting multi-modalities of network-connected medical devices across hospital systems, with expertise in CMMS, asset management, vulnerability patching, and risk assessments.

Knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission, and NIST standards. Skilled in collaboration, technical investigations, cybersecurity training, process improvement, and maintaining a valid driver's license. Prior BMET experience is highly beneficial.
  • Technical skills and hands-on experience with medical equipment repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and coordinate service operations efficiently.
  • A customer-focused mindset with the skillset to communicate effectively and build trust with clinical staff and team members.
  • Problem-solving resourcefulness and the skills to develop practical solutions in fast-paced, real-time environments.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to mentor or be mentored, supporting continuous learning and team development.
