We're seeking a talented Pipeline TD to help shape and elevate next-generation content pipeline, driving innovation across 3D and VFX workflows that power cutting-edge production for a world-renowned leader in technology and design innovation.Location: HYBRID - T, W, Th are in office days in Sunnyvale, CA. (non-negotiable)
Role: Long-term contract role, 40 hours/week
DescriptionAs a Pipeline TD in this role, you will focus on improving the visual quality and development of 3D graphics used to train computer vision and machine learning algorithms through rendering, image QA, tools, pipelines, and innovative solutions. You have creative and technical experience that can push boundaries, and develop new methodologies for solving complex synthetic data challenges for offline and real time environments. We work with internal and external teams developing synthetic data content for computer vision and machine learning technologies, and you'll be working with them to bring our vision to life.
Top Skills- 7+ years in TD role for 3D graphics, ideally AAA gaming or film experience (or large tech company experience)
- Python scripting within Maya (any/all Python experience is heavily preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and cross-functional partnership
What you'll do:- Develop, maintain, and upgrade existing content pipeline using Python, Maya, and USD.
- Act as the primary bridge between the content team and the database team, especially for pipeline stages after USD generation.
- Support all asset-related processes, including asset management, tracking, and data flow.
- Perform code reviews and manage ticket closure, ensuring high-quality pipeline contributions.
- Troubleshoot issues across the pipeline and support day-to-day operational needs.
- Improve and streamline the handoff between content creation and database ingestion.
- Help retire legacy systems and expand the pipeline to support additional asset types.
- Ensure pipeline reliability, stability, and scalability as production needs grow.
Technical Environment- Primary Tools: Python, Maya, USD
- Version Control: Perforce
- Database Interaction: Via Python API (no direct DB development required)
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Generating and developing artist friendly tools for 3D content, rigging, rendering, camera, and lighting
- Developing synthetic data content for machine learning, and computer vision
- Experience working with external teams, documentation, and training others
- Knowledgeable of Mac OS and Windows
